Premium Pinot Noir Vineyard in Anderson Valley AVA.
Philo Hillside Vineyard is set upon 20.06± acres and includes approximately 15.37± acres of premium Pinot Noir vineyard. The vineyard is located in Philo, California in the heart of the Anderson Valley AVA, famous for its ideal terroir for the Pinot Noir and Chardonnay varietals. Philo is part of Mendocino County, roughly five miles northwest of Boonville, less than an hour from Healdsburg and approximately two and half hours from San Francisco. The combination of soil type, climate and farming style yields fruit that is generally one of the earliest sites to bloom, set, color change and harvest. Anderson Valley’s proximity to the Pacific ocean pulls in cooling temperatures along its narrow corridor at night, while the mountains on either side of the valley ensure generous heating of the fruit during the day. This makes for an ideal climate for the Pinot Noir and Chardonnay varietals, yielding wine that is both elegant yet powerful. The vineyard is professionally farmed and has typically sold its fruit on the market for prices determined by buyers’ needs and cultural practices, yielding quality fruit with decent production amounts.
