NEW HOUSING IN SONOMA COUNTY’S FUTURE
The Santa Rosa City Council and the Sonoma County Board of Supervisors are moving forward to create an agency that will help foster home building in targeted areas. On Wednesday, the California Energy Commission voted unanimously to approve a mandate that all new homes built in California include solar panels. The mandate, which goes into effect in 2020, is the first of its kind in the USA.

Sonoma County Changes Rules to Spur New Housing
The Sonoma County Board of Supervisors approved a rules adjustment on Tuesday that is aimed at increasing housing in the County. There will be several changes, including those affecting granny units, single room dwellings and tiny houses. “‘Let’s allow for the maximum amount of flexibility,’ (Supervisor) Zane said.’”
